Touch is an amazing sense we have, and converting Touch actions into Digital domain is full of challenges and rewarding fun. At Synaptics, I am part of an amazing team which designs touch controllers for consumer and automotive markets. I provide key technical support for pre/post tape out ASIC Design and Verification and System Validation.• Design and verification of various analog blocks such as amplifiers, bandgaps, voltage references, reference currents etc., in CMOS 80nm/nm/40nm/22nm using Cadence tools and PDKs from foundries for Consumer and Automotive IC products. Hold design reviews (DRs) at various stages • Understand the requirements and the fab process, work with the team to finalize the specifications and architecture. Get a proof of concept schematic working. Provide prototype results and devise design for test (DFT) strategy to ensure testing and yield checks. • Perform extensive PVT & Monte Carlo simulations (DC, AC, Stability, and Transients) to ensure performance over typical and extreme corners. Get approval from the internal customers for performance or update design as needed. Work closely with the layout engineer to convert circuit to layout for proper matching. meeting design rules, and prevention of noise interference for sensitive signals and ensure proper bypass capacitances. Extract RC parasitics to re-run extensive simulations to verify physical design performances.o Design full chip AMS test benches, full chip AMS verification using Analog, Digital RTL, controllers and firmware.• Design validation system hardware including architecture, prototypes, schematics, and work with the layout engineers to complete board/flex design and production. Provide post silicon ASIC System bring up, debug, characterization and validation for Touch and display controllers. System validation using Matlab and other in-house tools. Provide training to worldwide audiences. Support RF Emissions/immunity, ESD (IEC 61000-4-2) testing meet specs.

Supporting key customers with touch and active stylus systems design, bring up, optimization and characterization.

• Actively managed the complete product development cycle for several maXTouch Touch Screen Controller ICs from inception to mass production• Launched and released over 4 large touch screen controller chipsets targeted for Android/Windows 8 tablets and ultrabooks with screen sizes up to 17"• Started and led the development of new innovative product line of maXStylus pen digitizer for touch screen controllers - This technology enables users to write on touch screen using maXTouch touch screen controllers

• Actively managed Touch Interface Product line consisting of capacitive, resistive touch screen and haptics actuator controllers targeted for consumer mobile applications.• Managed product definition team from concept to SOC design and to mass production for development consumer touch interface IC solutions.• Created MRDs for new product development projects to get buy in from key stake holders. Forecasted the product life time revenues; performed TAM, SAM and DCF analysis.• Launched 1 haptics and 1 capacitive touch controller product and took 2 products to mass production for consumer market.• Oversaw the design, test and application processes including software and firmware development closely for on-schedule delivery of samples and evaluation boards, and final silicon to customers.• Guided engineering team to perform over 12+ teardowns of touch products to stay on top of competition’s technology, to gain and maintain key value advantages for product offerings to the market.

• Designed and debugged hardware for Evaluation Kits, Reference Designs, and Demos Boards to promote / demonstrate Touch Screen Controllers and other Mixed Signal Products including Audio, Power and RF ICs. Created GUI software/firmware to support the board Hardware. • Wrote datasheets, user guides, and evaluation kit manuscripts for internal and/or external publication.• Provided key, quick-turn product specific technical applications support to our customers and field teams. Traveled to customer sites to market existing products and learn about new product opportunities. • Worked with Product Definition to contribute to product definition completion. Contributions include tear down for competitive analysis, creating application diagrams, and perform various simulation/lab experiments to aid in the selection of best architecture for new products.

- Designed test hardware and developed automated test system solution software for over thirty analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits products including Audio Codecs, DACs, Audio Amplifiers and Voltage references on various test systems such as TMT Credence, KVD, SZ Credence, S80 and temperature drift testers.- Designed Windows based DSP software utilities using Borland Builder C++ to aid in creating automated I2S patterns needed for Coherent testing of AC performances such as THD, THD+N, SNR, and etc., of Audio ADCs and DACs. - Defined and developed testing techniques and procedures for various Class-D Audio amplifiers and high quality Audio DACs. This included fully documenting the test solutions, holding the design reviews, designing and debugging the hardware and software, correlating with bench, characterizing over the temperature, releasing to production. - Defined and developed test methods for testing functionality and timing of I2C and I2S busses.

Started as an Intern which turned into a part time position while going to school full time. I managed Computers, Networks and of for over 50 employees. This was a great learning period for me. I had the chance to work with top class District Attorneys and learned many professional skills including oral and written communication skills which will last a life time. The best part is, all the staff was so friendly and supportive that I still miss them to date. Since this was in my home town I visit them once in a while. A lot have changed but they still remember me and so do I.
