Hello, I've spent the greater part of the last 26 years learning new things across industries and roles. I was never the linear career type - therefore changed roles as soon as I felt that the challenge was over, needless to say I enjoyed every bit of it.After completing my MBA in Accounting and Finance - I started my career in the banking industry with ANZ Grindlays Bank and experience retail relationship management and sales. With a knack for technology and my hunger for learning, I picked up the opportunity to move into the tech space and did a MSc in Business Information Technology from London. I moved into the tech space helping business development for a software firm selling a Microsoft Based Banking Solution. I was made the first Microsoft Development Partner back in 2001.I moved into the tech procurement and risk management space with Standard Chartered Bank taking care and being on the core team to set up the first Disaster Recovery Centre here in Bangladesh. It was around 2006 that I first discovered who I really was. I took a Gallup Strengthfinder and boy was that an eye opener. It showed that my top strengths were - Communication, Input, Relator, Learner, Responsibility. Over time I took up several senior management roles in the Bank and worked directly with the local board or Country Management Team as their Business Planning Manager reporting to the CEO. This was a great learning experience for me and to this day I thank all those who made my experience so rich. Not only did I learn about management business and numbers but most of all what I learnt was about people. How people rarely portray who they really are and how to manage them knowing well their intentions lie.I had a change of heart in 2016 and after a short stint managing the country's property portfolio - I decided it was time to change industry. With a love for agriculture and a budding investor - I was given to create and manage a new brand of fish feed in a major agrarian economy. This was again a great learning experience and the once suited booted Yassir was in his shorts wading into the farmers pond to discuss water quality and feed consumption rates. I then explored the hospitality sector setting up a large commercial kitchen for a local conglomerate, then a brief Covid stint with the second largest Ice Cream manufacturer and then managing the F&B Business including brands and food courts across the country.I've finally found my sweet spot and am now giving back to the community as a certified life and relationship coach and a consultant.
