Yvonne has experience in a variety of technology, law and medical related work environments. While at Imaging Endpoints, Yvonne worked within the iCRO's corporate legal department primarily assisting with the establishment of an overseas affiliate. In that capacity, she drafted a variety of employment contracts, helped with the administration of local human resources fundamentals and corporate tax requirements. Yvonne was also involved with researching and engaging with federal and state entities in connection with COVID-19 related small business grants and subsidies for COVID-19 detection via medical imaging. At ASU law school, Yvonne recently taught Bioethics and the Law, Genetics and the Law, Law, Science and Technology and Legal Professional Responsibility. Among other affiliations, she is Faculty and Scholar of the Center for Public Health Law & Policy and Faculty Fellow of the Center for Law, Science & Innovation (LSI) and has been actively involved in LSI community educational activities and conferences. She has published and spoken on a number of topics including human research regulation, genetics, human reproduction technology, organ transplantation, death & dying, animal testing, medical technology, physician liability, biotechnology, artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity, facial recognition technology, patent law and risk governance. In addition, Yvonne spent several years in private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia at an internationally renowned law firm specializing in mergers & acquisitions. She is a current member of the American Bar Association.Among many other commitments and interests, Yvonne is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), was the 2019 Chair, Risk, Policy & Law Specialty Group of the Society for Risk Analysis, a member of the American Society of Law, Medicine and Ethics, an ASU Law Legal Analytics Program fellow and a member of the Law & Technology Committee, Arizona Technology Council. Yvonne received her LL.M. in Biotechnology and Genomics from ASU’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in May 2013 and holds an LL.B. (J.D. equivalent) from the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
