I manage CAD systems (including Civil 3D 2008 through current version, Architecture, 3DS Max, Sketchup, Raster Design, AutoCAD and LT) computers, scanners and printers for Schnabel Engineering Greensboro in the Dam Engineering Department. I also oversee the training and deployment of new releases, manage CAD operators and engineering working in CAD systems. I have developed and continue to update standards, best practices guidelines and tutorials for all CAD users at Schnabel.

As the owner/sole employee of Yates Austin Drafting and Design I created 3D models, renderings and animations for individual clients, architects and landscape architects in the Wilmington, NC and Atlanta, GA markets.

As a field technician, Yates flagged and collected GPS coordinates for features across a wide variety of landscapes with Trimple GPS equipment. This data was then converted to NEZ points for imprort into CAD where he would then draw maps based on hand drawn redlines.
