Senior Site Reliability Engineer
CurrentResponsible to design, develop, automating, managing & integrating the Public Cloud Solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Kubernetes container infrastructure to cater Pearson's application teams’ requirements to improve organizational systems’ reliability, automation, and scalability. Over time, as the field evolved, it included solutions like on-call monitoring, automated capacity planning, infrastructure scaling, to ensure the availability, performance, security of production systems and plans for disaster recovery.• Contributes to build various custom terraform modules to deploy continuous integration on environments to multiple cloud accounts.• Contributes to build a continuous integration, continuous delivery pipeline using Gitlab for production environment in which ongoing automation and monitoring are implemented to improve and expedite development processes for integration and testing, deployment and delivery.Performs maintenance and troubleshooting of continuous integration systems including applications’ team docker images build and deployment used across multiple environments. Contributes in building new platform features with other System Engineers and documenting procedures for cloud platform related supports.• Proactively communicates and coordinates with multiple project teams.• Optimize the cloud platform performances, troubleshooting, determining the root cause and working on solutions and implementation.• Production operations (code deployments, upgrades, system patches).• Contributes to creating Root Cause Analysis documents for production for P1 incidents.• Performs cloud cost optimization for hosted applications.• Reviews code for technical quality and maintainer standards.• Works with a team which involves training, participating in scrum and agile practices, following day-to-day activities.• Mentors and directly participate in training for the team members.
