About Ya Yin Chang

Hi there! I'm a third-year neuroscience PhD student at the University of Edinburgh and the UK Dementia Research Institute. My research interest lies in all things synapses, both in healthy ageing and in disease. Currently, I'm looking into the mechanisms underlying synaptic compensation- this is especially relevant in Alzheimer's disease, where synapse loss strongly correlates with cognitive decline.
