About Yazmin Lizeth R.

Valuing hard work ethic and persistence as characteristics that can led anyone to great success, my personal goal is to help students reach their full potential by understanding how higher education can benefit their lives.Earning bachelor's and master's degrees as a first-generation college student, I've found the opportunity to work with a similar population a full-circle experience as I was inspired to achieve this goal by seeing those before me succeed. I'm grateful to be in a role that allows me to stand in front of youth to share the mission of Arizona State University: higher education is for - and accessible to - all.Outside of my professional work, I've been able to find different avenues to pursue my passion of helping others. I was a participant of the Obama Foundation's inaugural Community Leadership Corps where I created Soñadoras - a personal development program created specifically, but not exclusively, for Latina and Hispanic high school students. I was an individual mentor volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters. And more recently, I've completed a semester-long school counseling internship with the Phoenix Union High School District.

Listed skills include Leadership, Public Speaking, Community Outreach, Event Planning, and 29 others.
