I am a Registered Occupational Therapist, Psychotherapist whose career spans 20+ years working within community, consultative and clinical/hospital inpatient settings. I have expertise in mental health and have provided treatment for chronic, severe, persistent and concurrent disorders, medical-legal, complex trauma and addictions, and pain management cases. Within these populations, I have helped to improve my client's quality of life through: increasing their independence by identifying treatment strategies; helping clients process their traumas; provided exposure therapy; and implemented various strategies and/or interventions that meet the appropriate behaviors and skills needed for therapy and/or rehabilitation. The basis for these improvements comes from an ability to quickly build client rapport and the appropriate utilization of a wide range of occupational therapy assessment and treatment models, including specialist models such as MPS, PGAP Certified Clinician Level III, CCTP-II, CPT, DBT, ACT and CBT. This ability is coupled with an extensive knowledge of the impact of physical and/or mental illness on an individual’s functional, social, economic and cultural capacity.I possess excellent leadership skills, demonstrated by my experience as a past Board member and Chairperson of a Governing body of Occupational Therapists.
