Currently, I work for the USDA as a Consumer Safety Inspector. As a CSI my duties play a significant role in making sure the food that reaches American’s tables are safe and free of contamination. My role involves understanding HACCP protocols, Hazard analysis verification, Food defense, SSOP, and much more. As of now my main duties are dedicated to food inspection in slaughterhouse facilities and meat processing facilities.As a former Lab Technician at Matrix Sciences, I tested various food and environmental samples for pathogens, such as E. coli, listeria, and salmonella, using PCR and other methods. I process over 1,200 samples daily, delivering reliable and timely results to clients from popular chains and food distributors. I worked with a team of experienced and dedicated lab technicians, who shared their knowledge and expertise with me to succeed in a high paced working environment. As a graduate from Northeastern Illinois University, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, which I attained May 2022. My education background provides me with a solid foundation of biological concepts and principles, as well as practical skills in laboratory techniques and equipment. My core competencies include teamwork, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel. I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the safety and quality of food and environmental products, and to learn from the best practices and standards of the industry.
