About Yeeseon Chae

I am currently an Exhibitions Assistant at the Hyde Park Art Center, working on the upcoming retrospective of 'The United Colors of Robert Earl Paige.' Previously, I was also a North American Account Coordinator at Secretly Distribution, a leading independent music distribution company that works with artists such as Mitski, Phoebe Bridgers, and Sufjan Stevens. In this role, I manage the accounts of retail partners across the US and Canada, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of music and assets, as well as providing sales support.I have a Bachelor of Science in Economic Consulting and a minor in French from Indiana University Bloomington, where I also gained valuable experience as a content writer and communications strategist for various cultural organizations. I contributed to the Black Film Center/Archive's blog, the IU Office of the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs' website, and my college radio station's web content. My economics background has given me a well-rounded approach to seeing how businesses and important institutions are run and financed, and how to apply creative and vision-driven solutions to increase efficiency and organization.I am motivated by my passion for film, Internet culture, contemporary art, and how they all tie in to our daily lives. I spent a summer abroad in Paris, France, where I interned at Lost In Frenchlation, a local pop-up cinema that provides subtitles for French films. I also speak Korean and French, and I enjoy learning about different cultures and perspectives through media and art. I aspire to work in cultural organizations that empower diverse and independent voices, and that foster community and innovation.
