Recent graduate from Universiti Malaysia Sabah, majoring in Marine Science. Currently, I am an Intern on Fish Feeds and Nutrition at WorldFish, an international organization that is part of the CGIAR, headquartered in Penang. My work focuses on developing cost-effective, nutritious fish feeds with novel ingredients and conducting feeding trials to assist fish farmers in three African countries—Nigeria, Zambia, and Kenya—in adopting these innovations to increase income, improve food security, and reduce waste and pollution. Previously, I interned at the Fisheries Research Institute Penang under the Department of Fisheries Malaysia, where I worked on harmful algal bloom research in aquaculture areas across Penang, Kedah, and Perak on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. In addition to my marine research experience, I have a growing interest in bioinformatics, particularly in its application to marine ecology, evolutionary and symbioses studies. I am currently honing my knowledge and skills in molecular biology and bioinformatics through courses and self-learning.My past research experience includes studying tunicates (Class: Ascidiacea) diversity in Malaysian waters and their associated organisms, examining the effects of climate change-associated stressors (e.g., elevated water temperature) on interspecific interactions between ascidians and their associates, and investigating ascidian biofouling at aquaculture farms.
