Zacapa, Guatemala

Health Care NCO for Troop Medical Clinic during Operation: Beyond the Horizon 2014. Responsible for treatment of patients during sick call hours as well as training of junior enlisted Soldiers in health care specialty. Also trained and directed training for loading and unloading of patients for MEDEVAC and CASEVAC aircraft and vehicles for both United States and Guatemalan military personnel. Personally treated 75 patients during the three week training exercise.

Responsible for the daily update and submission of PERSTAT to S1; entered vital surgical data into patient tracking system, including surgical implant records; trained in and proficient in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) System and the ordering of supplies for surgery and anesthesia. Patient care includes the pre-op interview of patients, obtaining initial vital signs, gaining peripheral intravenous access, and post-surgical recovery of patients. Other duties include housekeeping, laboratory order entries, and specimen/tissue collection.

Amman, Jordan

Medical Element support providing 24/7 medical care for military personnel stationed at King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center in support of Eager Light 2012. Provided sick call hours and treatment, as well as personally transporting service members and supporting civilians to host nation hospital facilities, allowing patients to receive emergent and urgent care not available at the Battalion Aid Station. Also volunteered to assist with vaccination efforts for all Army Central Command elements deployed to Jordan during off-duty hours, completing a 100% influenza vaccination rate within 10 days of mission start.

San Salvador / San Vicente, El Salvador

As a Health Care Specialist, was responsible for the triage of patients, taking vital signs, vaccinations, patient admin, and time management of other health care professionals. Averaged 600 patients seen a day between five medics, and even worked extra shifts in other areas, demonstrating tireless commitment without interruption to patient flow to the clinic.
