Its first public outing was at "Adventure 89" in October of that year and then, with consistent data continuity, from 11th November 1989 in the UK moving to West London in May 1990 and onto the internet in Camden October 1994. Avalon made the Atlantic hop to Chicago in mid-1995 and finally took up its long-term position at the MAE-East hub in Virginia later that year.In an industry famously driven by innovative techniques at the technological cutting edge and given computer games have gone on an incredible journey of world conquest since the first bat'n'ball and weird mainframe text adventures, it's surprising Avalon has enjoyed such longevity. In many ways Avalon occupied an obsolete genre before it was even 10 years old yet it will turn thirty in 2019.
