Surgical First Assistant-Upper Extremity Surgery Contributed to more than 509 orthopedic procedures annually and maintained a 100% success rate with minimal post-surgical complications. Throughout these procedures, my responsibilities included: • I ensured the safe positioning of patients for surgery and assisted with their transportation to and from the operating room. I conducted the surgical preparation, including prepping and draping patients for the procedure, and facilitated exposure to the operative site. • I assisted and independently applied dressing and tape at the end of the surgical procedure using proper aseptic/sterile techniques. • I afforded exposure of the surgical site by the appropriate use of retractors, also supplied counter-traction of tissue utilizing various instruments to enhance the visual field. • I provisioned assistance with maintaining hemostasis to reduce potential for fluid volume deficits by clamping/ligating vessels, using electrocautery on tissue, applying manual direct pressure, and other means as directed by the surgeon. • I suctioned and sponged to maintain a dry surgical field resulting in optimal visualization of the surgical incision. • I assisted the surgeon in identifying patient and staff safety hazards. • I executed and refined my wound closure technique, skillfully suturing various types of tissues with suitable materials and techniques, all under the guidance of the surgeon. • I demonstrated advanced knowledge of normal and pathological anatomy and physiology and maintained current knowledge of procedures performed.In Addition I attended more than 3000 patients in medical consultation acquiring skills in the diagnosis and management of pathologies such as arthritis of the 1st CMC joint, Trigger fingers, Dupuytren's contracture, Carpal and Ulnar Tunnel Syndrome, fractures of proximal or distal humerus, Shoulder Impingement Syndrome including the use of physical examination tests.

• I assisted in over 110 neurosurgical procedures per year and achieved a 100% success rate with few post-surgical complications.• I coordinated and performed more than 50 emergency surgeries and more than 30 scheduled surgeries during the COVID-19 pandemic, for which I received due official recognition from this prestigious hospital.• During the position of head of shift on duty, I maintained the observation and care of more than 30 post-operative hospitalized patients and in surgery programming.

• I was the only surgical assistant of the Hemodynamicist in more than 250 cardiac catheterizations per year, where I obtained a complication rate of less than 5%.• I performed more than 140 diagnostic catheterizations and more than 100 therapeutic catheterizations per year, with which I managed to diagnose 6.8% of cases with severe pulmonary hypertension.• I assisted in the percutaneous closure of Patent Ductus Arteriosus using the Occlutech Duct Occluder (ODO) device in 40 patients, reaching a 100% occlusion effectiveness rate per year.

• I have programmed and participated as a surgical assistant in more than 50 open heart surgeries per year, where I obtained a 100% trans operative success rate, for the correction of congenital heart disease.• I was the leader in charge of post-surgical intensive care and monitored the evolution of at least 8 patients operated on each shift

Development great technical skills in procedures typical of the area such as: management of post- surgical patients, interpretation of laboratory tests, approach to central lines, orotracheal intuba- tion, basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, management of invasive mechanical ventilation, special medication and use of continuous infusion pump.
