- Designed the motor assembly for Rev9, with a two-piece motor/differential mount to move the differential outside the rear box for increased serviceability and a 34% reduction in plate mass from previous year’s design. Performed FEA and topology optimization on Ansys to guide design and selected bearings.- Optimized sprockets with cutouts informed by topology optimization to achieve desired reduction and reduce mass by 42% from the unoptimized design

- Led the mechanical design, fabrication, and validation of a tunable-stiffness pneumatic legged hopping robot platform with a novel pneumatic bellow actuator that enables a 1.5x stiffness change without pumps or valves- Characterized a PD controlled ground emulator’s real stiffness and damping for hopping energy cost experiments- Presented findings at the CURF Research Expo 2023, and a design paper of the pneumatic bellow actuator accepted by IEEE RoboSoft 2024
