Konga is Nigeria's largest e-commerce platform with the ambition to fuel commerce across Africa. While my prior experience equipped me with the skills to build robust products, my tenure at Konga elevated my expertise in scaling and maintaining products at an enterprise level.In my role at Konga, I led a predominantly junior engineering team—some of whom were new to programming—on an audacious project aimed at creating the world's fastest e-commerce platform. We leveraged cutting-edge trends in frontend engineering and adapted them to meet our unique use cases. Highlights of my experience at Konga include:Frontend Innovation:- Conceived and implemented an end-to-end search experience aimed at optimizing user engagement and conversion rates.- Designed and deployed a streamlined checkout process to significantly reduce user friction and improve the overall shopping experience.- One of the earliest adopters of Next.js for rapid application development, utilizing its features to accelerate the development cycle and improve web application performance.- Microservices Architecture and GraphQL: Actively led in building, debugging, and maintaining various production microservices that interact with clients through a GraphQL gateway. Formplus is a SaaS tool that allows individuals and businesses to easily collect information, using web forms with no specialised knowledge needed. With users from all over the world, the primary objective of Formplus is to provide the easiest form building experience.Starting as a technical customer support personnel, then a product designer and then as a Software Engineer, I interact with our users - helping them solve whatever issues they may have but most importantly, listening to them. From these conversations, I extract useful/actionable data which is discussed with other members of the team to make the product better and this knowledge is then used as a guide when designing & iterating over different sections of the product.I was solely responsible for updating, developing & maintaining the application frontend while implementing features from the frontend to the backend. Some of my responsibilities in this role included:- Implementing features end to end from the frontend (an Angular powered single page application) to the backend (a Python Flask).- Designed and implemented a universal interface which supports all languages, even right to left languages.- Worked with the product manager to outline and define product strategy.- Content creation and management of the company's blog: blog.formpl.us- Worked with customers to find/build solutions for their specific use cases.
