Sports Turf Design service

Started as an apprentice gardener in 1970.Started a Sports Turf construction company (Melbourne Turf Management) with a partner in 1980.Became a TAFE teacher in 1986 and stayed for 23 years, in those early years completed a Diploma in Sports Turf Management.Was involved in the early years of utilising computers in the Sports Turf Industry from the collection of survey data (with great guidance from Geodometer (Sweden) and C.R. Kennedy (Melbourne)). Then creating existing and proposed 3D models of these turf surfaces. Once this modelling was perfected, in a usable format, working with a construction company called Melbourne Turf Management (now McMahons) to adapt the machines to be able to use the computer models that guided the various elevations of the computerised contolled hydraulics.The first golf green (Royal Melbourne), the first sports oval (Docklands stadium) and the first racetrack (Royal Randwick) in the world where built with this technology. All in a three way partnership to acheive this goal which nowadays is the acceptable standard in the field of Sports Turf Management.
