Yelta Köm is a research associate at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, where he teaches and conducts research on the practices and politics of representation in architecture, art, and media. He has over six years of experience in incorporating architecture, artistic and spatial practices, to discuss social and political issues.His work is mainly influenced by the perception of the environment, the image of the city, neoliberal transformations, the tension between nature and technology, and collective movements. He has curated and designed exhibitions, events, and publications for various biennales, museums, and foundations, such as the Pavilion of Turkey at Venice Architecture Biennale, Istanbul Modern Museum, and Aerocene Foundation. He also writes articles for newspapers, magazines, and books, ranging from academic to scientific to popular culture. He is passionate about exploring and questioning representation techniques, mapping systems, landforms, technology, critical spatial and commoning practices, and urban and data surveillance methodologies.
