I am enrolled in the Master of Social Work degree at Flinders University. I had been working as a junior high school teacher in my home country-Taiwan for a decade, my academic background is in Education. I have been in the educational field most of my career life and have a lot of experience working with adolescents and children. Working with students is the most rewarding job for me, it enables me to build a good relationship with children and young people. I have been working with students with disabilities who have learning, intellectual disabilities, and emotional and behavioural disorder in special classes by teaching them learning skills. As a student of social work, I have gained a lot of experience in volunteering work, such as in an age care organization- Southern Cross Care with elderly people and Emergency Assistance program working with the vulnerable people in AnglicareSA. Additionally, my two placements in two different settings acquired me skills such as observing, assessing and designing group work in facilitating mental well-beings; researching, analysing and conducting a team research project in community development. As a social work student and a volunteer, I have many contacts with service users who have alcohol, drug addiction problem.
