My course modules in Temasek Polytechnic include Molecular Biology, Cell Technology, and Bioanalytical Technology. Learning Molecular Biology taught me the basics of DNA, the flow of genetic information, RNA, and processes like replication, transcription and translation in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Cell Technology taught me basic theoretical and practical knowledge of mammalian cell culture. This includes the requirements for establishing and maintaining cell cultures in laboratories and large-scale operations. Bioanalytical Technology taught me the applications of separation, analytical and immunological techniques required in the field of medical biotechnology. Apart from academics, I am extremely active in my co-curricular activity, Taekwondo. As part of the main committee, I have learnt how to work together as a team and acquired some basic leadership skills. Additionally, being a secretary taught me how to organise and plan data and my time well. Apart from Taekwondo, I was the Vice-President of Fitness Through Science (FiTS) Interest Group. Being the VP taught me the basics of planning and organising projects.
