I’m a designer and illustrator who believes that creativity should be fun. My ethos is to ‘Make Cool Stuff’ and whatever I'm making I want to make it well. My focus is digital and web design. My career so far has firmly placed me in this direction, and I love that digital can be an intersection of so many skillsets; design thinking, illustration, typography, campaigns, branding and more. Designing for digital offers a lot of creativity and many challenges which makes it very enjoyable; email marketing, web and landing page design, social and web advertising, developing creative campaigns and user-interface projects are all things I love to work on and have lots of experience in. I’ve cultivated a high level of creative confidence giving me the courage and enthusiasm to tackle difficult, novel tasks and produce a great solution and I’m not afraid to ask questions.I’ve always enjoyed setting myself challenges that allow me to experiment and develop my skills; a project to learn a new software, working on design challenges with friends, taking part in global creative challenges (36 days of type), creating something every single day for a year. Practicing is the best way to become an excellent designer and illustrator, and I want to reach my 10,000 hours of practice.I’m a natural collaborator, I work effectively by myself but I’ve always thrived as part of a team. I love to work with people (designers or other experts) who can teach me things and vice versa. I’m at my happiest when I’m brimming with ideas and have plenty of side-projects to work on (I have great memories of hanging back in the Studio, with my friend India, working on our illustration and animation skills). Outside of design, I enjoy photography and walking with my dog. I love to go hiking, love exploring places for the first time, especially finding a hidden gem locally. My favourite colour is orange and I enjoy raiding antique shops. The most important part of being a designer for me is to feel like I’m part of the reason my team enjoy what they do and are improving.
