Part of multidisciplinary team to design and launch Canada's first fully student-funded CubeSat satellite (project: HERON) into space by 2020. The satellite will conduct a biological research mission the study the behavior of yeast cells in a microgravity environment. My work on the team includes: - Schematic drawings, PCB layout, bill of materials using Altium Designer- Perform validation and design tests for power system components (switch mode power supplies, battery protection, current monitoring) using electronic test instruments - Solar panel simulations using Python, electronics loads, and DC power supplies - Manage the development cycle of the electrical power system (EPS) on the satellite - Working with Systems Engineering, Thermal and Mechanical Subsystem to work on Satellite integration - Documentation, test procedures, electrical component use guides- Participating in UTAT outreach events (i.e. University of Toronto’s Jr DEEP Program)

Worked with the Electrical, Mechanical and Ultrasound departments at FUJIFILM VisualSonics, Inc. as an Electrical Engineering Technician Intern. My primary roles included: - Test analog, digital, power supply hardware, acoustic performance of ultrasound transducers and system equipment - Collect and analyze transducer and ultrasound system data using MATLAB - Rework and solder surface mount components onto PCBs based on schematic changes given by engineers, and report for any board manufacturing issues- Assemble electrical and mechanical systems for ultrasound machines and test fixtures - Proposed improvements and solutions for hardware test and mechanical assembly procedures

Worked with the University of Toronto Entrepreneurship Hatchery Program to develop new agricultural technologies. We were developing an automated robotic system to help optimize and reduce costs within the greenhouse labor space. My work as a co-founder includes: - Business development: Created outline for company's business model and conducted business pitches towards potential investors / UofT Entrepreneurship Hatchery judges. - Market research / Outreach: communicated, visited and spoke to local Ontario farmers to affirm our company's problem statement with the labor issue in greenhouses.- Software and design development of our company's proposed automated greenhouse robotic system. Our mission at Thrive is that we want to revolutionize the way greenhouses approach labor. As the demand of the global food supply increases, the labor needed in agriculture to meet that requirement increases as well. Labor is also becoming more expensive and scarce, prohibiting the scalability of greenhouses. We believe that automation working in hand with labor intensive tasks will not only help greenhouses sustain their agricultural practices, but to thrive within this space and for future endeavors.
