Trilingual in English, French and Chinese, Yew Boon has high level experience in sovereign wealth fund management, blockchain ecosystem investments, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, education, and government. He’s now an Advisor to, and investor in Helicap, a fintech company that’s developed sophisticated credit analytics tools for managing a highly successful private credit fund, and built an online investment distribution platform, and plays a similar role in Helicap Labs (Helix), Helicap’s spin-off that’s building a platform to bridge defi liquidity and tokenised real world assets (RWA). In the blockchain space, he’s also Advisor to Rosemoor Capital, a blockchain ecosystem venture capital investment manager with partners in New York and London.His own company Catalyst Advisors International provides consulting services for private equity and venture capital projects. He is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of an SGX-listed real estate investment trust and a HK-listed energy management systems integrator. Earlier on he was CEO of a dual-listed (ASX and SGX) company involved in tertiary education in China and Australia, concurrently heading business development at its separately listed conglomerate parent. Prior to that he worked for GIC, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds, following a stint in investment banking when he managed some well-ranked Asian equity research teams. His first employer was the Singapore government’s Economic Development Board (EDB); after serving as EDB’s Stockholm-based Director for Nordic Countries, he was put in charge of local manufacturing companies.Mr. Chia graduated in chemical engineering with a Diplôme d’Ingénieur-Chimiste from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Strasbourg, France (now known as École européenne de chimie, polymères et matériaux {ECPM} following a series of M&A). His multi-cultural, multilingual background and exposure to a wide range of industries and companies make him highly adept at bridging cultural & communication differences, and catalysing deals and forging strategic partnerships between disparate parties.
