Postdoctoral Researcher
I worked as an HCI researcher in a Bayesian statistical machine learning group, and was responsible for bridging the gap between the users, new machine learning algorithms, existing application fields (such as information retrieval, personal information management, information visualization, quantified-self, and recommender systems). I managed to turn new machine learning algorithms into user-friendly applications, and played an important role in the full life circle of some products, including:— UX design, including interactive data visualizations— Planned and conducted formative and summative user studies, and distilled insights from qualitative (e.g., interviews, videos) and quantitative data (e.g., activity logs)— Developed front-end of web apps, and wrote APIs in Java, Python at the backend— Prepared work package reports for project meetings and present to commercial sponsors— Supervised BSc. students on their dissertation.
