My name is Yi-Feng Lin, also known as Darren. I graduated from National Taiwan University, one of Taiwan's top institutions, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. My passion for foreign cultures led me to the United States during my senior year of high school, where I participated in a short-term educational program on a scholarship. I have also traveled to Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Germany for sightseeing, work and business meetings.I am proficient in English, which I have honed through language learning from movies and songs, and my academic background has equipped me with strong speaking and listening skills. During my college years, I developed a keen interest in computer drafting and mechanisms. I even contributed to a book-writing program that produced a textbook on CATIA, which is used for teaching the subject.My career began at Hoerbiger, where I focused on reciprocating compressors. I started by gaining expertise in wear parts such as valves, cylinder rings, and packing rings. My responsibilities included addressing customer issues like high temperatures, leaks, or capacity losses. I measured dimensions of various components to ensure accurate replacement of OEM parts. Additionally, I assisted customers with overhauls during maintenance shutdowns, performing critical data measurements and reporting any abnormalities.Following my time at Hoerbiger, I worked for Neuman & Esser Compressor Service Company (NEAC). In this role, I assisted customers with both major and minor overhauls. Often working alone at customer sites, I led teams of technicians and workers, provided guidance on compressor operation, daily checks, and wear part knowledge. I also conducted on-site troubleshooting and reported findings to NEAC to develop comprehensive solutions for customers.Currently, I am employed at Mech-N-Air in Melbourne, Australia, where I work as a mechanic. My role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining excavators, tippers, and bulldozers. Each day presents new challenges, whether dealing with hydraulic failures, engine issues, or electrical problems. This role demands a deep understanding of machinery, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.
