• Manage all 5 labs (electric/autonomous driving sensors, tire/wheel, garage, prototype fabrication shop, and material/corrosion) in GM China product engineering.• Fleet management of all engineering development/test vehicles• L2++/L4 autonomous vehicles retrofit/repair/maintenance• GM premium import vehicles retrofit/repair/maintenance

• Responsible for all 5 labs in GM China product engineering.• Strategic planning of the labs. Driving the traditional validation labs towards autonomous driving labs (Radar, LiDAR, camera lab set up in 2021, vehicle surrounding camera calibration lab and autonomous driving track set up in 2022).• EHS management: comply with US./China/company regulations; insure labs are safe to both people and environment.• People management: recruit, coach, develop, and optimize.• Budget (capital, operation, and HR) control/management.• Project management: plan, setup, execution, timing/budget control.• Fixed asset management: plan, purchasing, control, and optimization.• Collaborate with internally and externally bodies (legal, finance, HR, communication, facility, EHS, IT, purchasing, logistics, government, partners, vendors, etc.,)• Lab set up, renovation, repair, maintenance, facility, and infrastructure.

• Responsible for operation (EHS, quality, regulation), of all labs in GM China product engineering. • Manage material/corrosion/chemical lab.

• Responsible for setting up powertrain labs (2 engine dynamometer labs, and 1 chassis dynamometer and emission lab) with budget EURO 18 million. • Coordinate powertrain with internal (legal, finance, purchasing, EHS, and facility, etc.) and external bodies (government, contractors, and suppliers, etc.) to solve problems in the project.• Manage the fuels/oils/chemistry lab, following ISO 17025. • Provide technical support of fuels, bio-fuels, and oils to GM China and GM JVs.• Fixed asset management for PT labs.

Set up a chemistry/fuels lab for GMIO, and control the budget within USD 1 million.Run and manage the lab. Based on technical needs, purchase instruments, including FTIR, ICP, GC, GC/MS, HPLC, IC, titrators, fuel/oil testing instruments, supporting equipment, etc.Set up and calibrate instruments.Deal business and legal issues with internal/external bodies and government.

Design lab lay-out; develop lab budget; search rental space for a temporary lab.Lead the project to study China methanol fuel impact on engines and parts (budget RMB 3 million) by tests in GM China, Korea, North America, and Europe.Support projects related to petroleum and bio fuels.

• Study enzyme interaction by spectroscopic and biochemical techniques.

• Study enzymes structure, mechanism and interaction, by analytical and physical techniques: resonance Raman, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), CD, HPLC, UV-Vis, X-ray absorbance spectroscopy (XAS), nuclear resonance vibrational spectroscopy (NRVS), and mass spectroscopy. • Overexpress, purify and identify enzymes by bacteria overexpression, FPLC and SDS-PAGE.

• Teach general chemistry recitation to undergraduate students, answer questions, and prepare sample questions and exams.

• Identify and quantify chemical products and raw materials by FTIR, GC/MS, GC/IR, IR-microscope, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), elemental analyzer (EA) and GC. Provide assays by titration, GC and HPLC. • Measure specific physical properties by TGA, DSC, and surface tension meter. • Develop new analytical methods. • Provide technical support to other Customs branches.
