I am a data science master's student at The Johns Hopkins University, with a bachelor's degree in statistics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I have completed two data analysis internships at Deloitte Consulting and Hannover Re, where I applied my skills in R, SQL, Excel, and Tableau to collect, clean, transform, and visualize data for various business and actuarial purposes. I have also earned multiple certificates and honors in data science, such as the Certificate of Completion in Intro to ChatGPT and Generative AI, the Data Analysis with Excel Pivot Tables, and the Advanced SQL, as well as the UIUC Dean's List and the Summa Cum Laude.In my most recent internship at Hannover Re, I conducted data mining and extraction from various open sources on COVID-19 vaccine side effects, and built a logistic regression model to predict if a person is going to suffer serious side effects from the vaccine, which increased the accuracy of the mean model by 12% and enabled the actuaries to offer a more competitive pricing strategy. I also researched and identified credible articles on coronavirus vaccination side effects and convinced the stakeholders to use the U.S. data source for the Chinese market. I am passionate about applying data science to solve real-world problems and create social impact, and I am eager to learn from and collaborate with diverse and talented teams. I believe I can bring a unique perspective and experience to the organization, as I have lived and studied in both the U.S. and China, and I am fluent in Chinese.
