How do you build a world through design? From a very young age, I was interested in storytelling, immersion, and have been fascinated by how people can get absorbed into fantastical worlds, fictional settings that still feel organic and real. Just as eloquence can enhance written work, so too can design elevate messages through the visual medium. I strive to translate this same feeling into my design work, to create experiences for both traditional and digital. I am experienced in print media and publication, such as the Gallo Center for the Arts. I also have experience in social media management, curating selections of posts to engage with the followers of several different companies, for both regional brands and local shops. In each of these projects, my goal is always to cultivate an experience that is not only on brand, but one that is visually engaging and immersive for the users. To learn more about strong world building and setting creation, I take heavy inspiration from history, as well as fiction. In addition, I am always looking for new tools and new mediums that I can use to expand my skill set. Currently, I am engaged in a rigorous course for a certification in UX design to understand how best to research and craft experiences for target audiences. I am always on the lookout for examples in works by other designers, so If you are also interested in immersive spaces, please feel free to reach out. I would love to hear more about your design process, and how you incorporate worldbuilding into your process.
