I focus on two interrelated research projects: (1) Developing iPSC based-platforms for studying neuron degenerative diseases including ALS and AD. (2) Identify the roles of noncodingRNAs involving in ALS pathogenesis and develop antisense oligonucleotides as ALS therapeutic drugsCurrently, I have discovered and developed antisense oligonucleotides long non-coding RNA-Nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 as therapeutic targeting in TDP43 associated neurodegeneration;TDP43 pathology is a major hallmark of ALS and FTD. I started from IPSC system to generate ALS relevant cell system including ALS motor neuron and neuromuscular organoids for drug develop platform. I also set out to identify and delineate novel pathogeneses (e.g., other long noncoding RNA) in ALS -iPSC systems so that better treatments can be designed.
