Graduate courses I taught: SoAn5012: Research Methods in Anthropology; SoAn-5013: Ethnographic Analysis; Soci-5022: Qualitative Data Analysis; SoAn-6032: Project Cycle Management. In addition, I have been serving as primary and co-advisor for four master’s and two doctoral students in the Department of Social Anthropology, BDU.

Corvallis, Oregon Area

From September 2013 – September 2016, as a Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University, I supported a U.S. NSF-funded project focusing on the agency and wellbeing of Health Extension Workers (paid community health workers [CHWs]) and Women’s Development Army leaders (unpaid CHWs) in rural Amhara, Ethiopia. The principal Investigators of this project were Kenneth Maes, Oregon State University and Svea Closser, Johns Hopkins University.For two years (2014-2016), as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Oregon State University, I independently taught an online undergraduate course (ANTH 352e: Anthropology, Health and Environment). In 2016 and 2017 I served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at OSU for two on-campus undergraduate courses (ANTH 380: Cultures in Conflict and ANTH 374: Cross-cultural Health and Healing).

The project was part of Columbia University’s Earth Institute Center for Global Health and Economic Development, and I was working both on program areas and research projects.My duties included:• Assisting the implementation of the Ethiopia’s national community health program (the Health Extension Program [HEP]) ;• Coordinating efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in the country;• Coordinating the Malaria Quick Impact Initiatives in Africa;• Coordinating the Millennium Villages in Ethiopia.Furthermore, my duties in the Center required me to do researchers, develop national program evaluation reports, make presentations of reports and publish journal articles. My duties included:• Facilitating collaboration among the different stakeholders;• Supervising fieldwork activities of MA and MSc students who completed their thesis research under this project;• Participating in entomological studies;• Managing entomology lab;• Managing the project.
