Graduate Research Assistant, Grand River and Dam Authority (GRDA) Water Resource Board Web Portal, School of Computer Science, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. 2015 – Present• Web portal front-end with Python Django framework and Twitter Bootstrap toolkit. Developed a real-time water resource data board with Google Map interface for the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees in Oklahoma State. • Analyze water resource data and use Highchart toolkit to plot data for certain parameters (temperature, PH, etc.) in time series. Draw isopleth plot for parameters in time and depth series.• Use python scripts and Linux Shell scripts to do FTP download and database update periodically. Use PostgreSQL Database to store and manage data set.

Graduate Research Assistant, New England Vascular Plant (NEVP) Specimen Data Digitization Project, College of Engineering, University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. 2012 – 2015• Developed an automatic imaging system software with Canon SDK on Canon digital cameras. Use NI-DAQmx Measurement Services Software on NI-DAQ to control Dorner™ Conveyor and SICK™ laser sensors to implement the automation.• Developed an image metadata management system by JAX-WS web service framework in Tomcat container. Use Eclipse RCP framework to build the workspace interface for users.

Research focus: Software Defined Network(SDN), Edge Computing, Opportunistic Network (DelayTolerant Network) and Vehicular Network. 2012- PresentImplement SDN controller functionalities within virtual and physical switch devices with OpenvSwitch software, including packet matching, packet scheduling, packet forward and flow entriesmanagement. Improved Open vSwitch’s packet buffering mechanism and flow-table matchingmechanism (A Linux kernel and user space application). Improved the controller performance in4 times.Develop an SDN Docker program to Docking/ Undocking network applications with OpenvSwitch in home-use switches (Mikrotik RouteBoard / Ubiquiti EdgeRouter Lite / Raspberry Pi)with OpenWRT system. Applied Linux Containers (LXC) and virtual Ethernet connection (kmodveth)to host applications in OpenWRT.Develop MQTT/MQTT-SN protocol program in OpenWRT system. Use cross layer optimizationapproach between 802.11 Wi-Fi protocol and MQTT protocol to improve MQTT protocolthroughput.Implement bundle protocol in Delay Tolerant Networking(DTN) on OpenWRT devices. Developa novel convergence layers over Openflow protocol with Open vSwitch and 802.11p WAVEprotocol in vehicular network On-Board Unit.Use network emulation tools like Traffic Control (TC) and Network Emulator (Netem), to tunenetwork parameters (bandwidth, delay, packet loss rate) on physical network devices inOpenWRT system.Develop mobile network simulator with SDN controller program. By dynamically changing theflow entries in SDN switch, redirect data traffic to different routes to simulate the movement ofclients in network. The simulator could run on Mininet simulation environment and real testbedon home use Openflow switches.
