My understanding of accounting was initially quite narrow—I consider it as simply documenting numbers. However, as I delved deeper into the subject, I discovered that it is, in fact, the foundation of the business world. It standardizes the interpretation of all economic activities and offers valuable insights for predicting future trends.During my undergraduate studies, I completed all 155 credit hours required to sit for the CPA exam, gaining a solid foundation in accounting and finance. I also explored how to effectively integrate data analysis and machine learning with accounting knowledge, allowing for deeper and more comprehensive business analysis. Beyond academics, I engaged in 138 hours of volunteer work, contributing to various school activities. I also joined the ping-pong team and the school’s symphony orchestra, balancing my academic pursuits with extracurricular involvement.As for my internships, although I had limited exposure to audit working papers during my time at accounting firms, tasks such as vouching and organizing confirmation letters helped me develop strong attention to detail, effective task prioritization, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities under pressure. Besides, my experience at PetroChina stressed the critical importance of corporate compliance and risk management, offering me valuable insights into how companies maintain operational integrity while mitigating risks.
