I am more than honored to be selected as the graduate fellow for the Visualizing Cities Lab (VCL) anchored by the Department of Art, Art History and Visual Studies at Duke Universities. Each of the graduate fellow works with two other undergrad fellows, selecting a special topic with regard to the global cities and organizing a workshop for all the Lab fellows, faculties and anyone interested. In detail, my duties include but are not limited to:* Spearheaded a team of three and coordinated biweekly Zoom meeting and/or discussion regarding the Lab, culminating in the workshop entitled Cold War Cities: Pyongyang and Seoul* Led an hour-long workshop with over 20 participants, preparing Zoom breakout-room activities and all the relevant materials and facilitating discussion and interaction* Resorted to first-hand and second-hand materials, both written and visual, probing into the correlation between urban planning and state ideology in the Cold War architecture in the Korean Peninsula
