PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS: psychology, mental health, wellness, crisis intervention, public service.If I were to describe myself in two words it would be: passionate and dedicated. For as long as I can remember, I held a drive to advocate for and support those in need. In high school, I founded a chapter of an already well-known club called Students Taking Action Now: Darfur (STAND). STAND is a student-led activist organization that advocated for the prevention and end of genocide in Darfur, Sudan. Eventually, my quest to help those in need intersected with my love for all things related to the field of psychology. This led me to pursue a BA Honours Degree at York University. To further broaden my academic foundation, I am now working, part-time, towards a combined BA Degree with a double major in Criminology and Policing at Wilfred Laurier University.For a number of years, I volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the Toronto Distress Centres. I found my volunteer work to be immensely fulfilling. A fact, which I believe stems from an intrinsic motivation to support individuals going through times of hardship and crisis. My volunteer experience, training, and formal education allow me to fulfill this role effectively and skillfully. Looking forward, I am eager to continue leveraging my expertise and passion to make a meaningful impact in the fields of mental health and public service.
