I was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic and moved to New York City at age five. I attended Adelphi University and received a Bachelor of Science degree for Psychology and Sociology in 2009. In 2012, I received a Master of Science degree in Education for School Psychology with a Bilingual Extension from Long Island University- Brooklyn Campus. I completed my School Psychology internship in 2011 with the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE) Psychologist-in-Training (PIT) Program. I then attended the City University of New York (CUNY)- Hunter College where I received an Advanced Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (2014). I worked in the NYC DOE as an appointed Psychologist from 2012 to 2019. There I worked with students from Pre-K to 12th grade and in specialized schools for students with significant disabilities. In 2019, I moved to Washington and worked at Kent school district. The following year (2020), I began working at Bellevue School District where I am currently employed. Fun facts: I am a first-generation immigrant and college graduate. I am a member of the international honor societies for Psychology (Psi Chi) and Sociology (AKD). I have received awards for excellence in academic research and scholarship at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I am a certified School Psychologist in both New York and Washington state. I am also certified in Bilingual Education in New York. I live in the greater Seattle area with my partner, our two children, and two cats. I can read music, enjoy gardening, and love to cook. Our family speaks English, Spanish, and Jamaican Patois.
