CYCAN is the largest and only nation-wide network of 300 university student groups dedicated to raising awareness of and fostering actions against climate change.

Greening global financial flows to enable green power transition.

Generated, expanded, and supported WWF-US conservation program strategy and priorities and fundraising opportunities with its strategic partnership with WWF-China (e.g. ocean conservation in China, greening the Belt and Road Initiative); Worked with the China office and wider network to deliver WWF's global priority initiative to shift Chinese outbound investment from coal to clean in Asia.

Together with 76 other women in science from around the world, I embarked on a year-long journey of learning and transformation that culminated in an expedition to Antarctica. Homeward Bound is a groundbreaking leadership and science initiative for women, aimed at heightening the influence and impact of women with a science background in order to influence policy and decision-making as it shapes our planet.

The China's Green Shift Initiative (CGSI) - a WWF Global Priority - aims to help decouple China’s global ecological footprint from economic growth through transformations in national development policies, domestic and overseas investment practices, and production and consumption patterns, and turn China into a driving force in global conservation and footprint reduction. Since 2017, my program development role has shifted to support WWF-China's entire programs department with an emphasis on fostering cross-practice collaboration and developing new initiatives around climate finance and ocean conservation (and setting up the funding collaborative - Blue Planet Fund). My main responsibilities included ~helping shape overall strategic direction of Initiative, track programmatic and financial performance, and raise Initiative profile and funding, and managing donor relations; ~fostering collaboration with WWF offices in Africa, Asia, Europe and US around strategy development and fundraising effort, as well as building alliances with civil society partners in China and elsewhere; ~strengthening our results-based management and facilitating knowledge production and learning.

I worked with founder Winslow Robertson and co-host Lina Benabdallah to produced nearly 20 episodes of podcasts. We explored various aspects of the evolving relationship between China and countries in Africa and heard from scholars and practitioners from all over. Topics ranged from diplomatic and geopolitical engagements, knowledge and technology transfer, wildlife and sustainability, and stories from entrepreneurs, journalists, youth activists, researchers, NGO advocates, and various characters that enrich our understanding of multifaceted interactions between China-Africa countries.

Working with Professor Robert Bailis and other PhD students, I took on several research projects that examined the interaction of household energy in developing countries and global carbon markets, organized academic conferences, and co-authored articles. Projects included: • Surveyed households and conducted ethnographic research on clean cookstove dissemination, adoption and their market development patterns in Himachal Pradesh, India• Conducted fieldwork in Uganda and Kenya to assess co-benefits of carbon offset projects, and processed data and contributed to publications.• Built a database of carbon-financed cookstove projects, and preparing publication assessing effects of regulatory and voluntary carbon credits standards on quality of offsets claimed• Analyzed field data from a social network study of a cookstove project in Honduras, using GIS & NodeExcel

The BASIC South Initiative was conceived to build stronger civil society alliances and amplify voices across countries of the emerging climate negotiation bloc - Brazil, South Africa, India, and China.

Joined NRDC’s "Race To Rio+20" Campaign and the Cloud of Commitment initiative to redefine success and mobilize broad-based actions from all sectors of society for the 2012 Earth Summit in Brazil. My main responsibilities included managing social media platforms and preparing publications; engaging in youth network development and mobilization; building alliance with Chinese NGOs; coordinating NRDC's 30-people delegation to the Summit and executing on-the-ground campaign activities during Summit.

REEN is a registered nonprofit trust born out of the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change (AYICC-Kenya). It is created by aspired young professionals and students to serve as a network of energy initiatives of various youth groups across Kenya and with external partners and resources, to enhance local efforts in fostering sustainable enterprises that takes care of both people and the environment.REEN connects and enhances AYICC’s member organizations’ on-the-ground rural energy initiatives (such as improved stoves, biogas digesters, solar lighting and cooking, etc.) by establishing resource databases, hosting regional workshops and building up the youth’s capacity to market their skills and innovations.
