Immersion Music develops and presents new musical experiences that bridge the gap between traditional forms and new technologies. Our projects expand and transform the skills of trained musicians and define a new set of possibilities for musical expression in the performing arts of the future. We have collaborated with Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, ran large scale music perception experiments, commissioned orchestral pieces for novel music interfaces, made musical systems for museums and took them on tour through major symphony halls of Europe and North America. I have contributed to our annual planning, running large scale events and writing code to support our exhibitions and music systems.

Rethink Robotics is developing a new class of robots. Our robots are designed to work among people, so we have to bring in a lot of innovation into the field of industrial robotics that has traditionally been thought of as job-stealing, hard-hat wearing and not very people-friendly area. My responsibilities include correlating hopes and promise of academic research with the hard practice of making it technologically and economically feasible to put it in front of real people and include into the manufacturing process. I often build prototypes of new devices and algorithms, run validation experiments for promising new techniques, find creative ways of making difficult things simple to use, and advocate for new ways of looking at old problems. Some of these prototypes and experiments become parts of our products, some are slated for the future and some just don't work out. So, daily - I try to maximize the first, and minimize the last items on the list.

BookMentor is an on-line non-profit and social networking site, which uses micro patronage to supply high-needs schools with books nationally and internationally. Centered around a curated and continuously updated list of award-winning children's and young adult's literature, the BookMentor website enables donors to purchase books for teachers, and to also share their love of children's literature through book recommendations and tributes
