This led me to take a seven-year “gap decade,” during which I independently immigrated to a new country without knowing anyone. Through Couchsurfing and hosting on Airbnb, I had the privilege of living alongside over 5,000 people from 70+ countries. These experiences profoundly reshaped my understanding of community, empathy, and resilience.
