Project Manager of the ETCS2 generic baseline for the conventional network, Nicolas managed theinternal team, the supplier and adapted Infrabel’s processes to this new technology. This projectis the technical base for equipping 2.000 km of conventional tracks in Belgium.

Project Manager of the first application of ETCS level 2 on conventional network in Belgium, Nicolas managed the internal team and the supplier in a challenging schedule. The project was deliveredwith positive assessment and "authorisation to place in service". The line is running ETCS2 since July 2018.

Project Manager of the ETCS2+IL development phase, Nicolas supported strategic choices for thedevelopment of the new signalling system in Belgium, built the team, set up the organizationand the collaboration with the supplier for this +500M€, 7-year long contract.

Cape Town Area, South Africa

Nicolas was one of the experts who provided PRASA (South Africa) with technical assistance for thesourcing of an ETCS Level 2 trackside subsystem. I participated to the feasibility study, thesourcing strategy definition, the writing of the request for proposal and the tenders evaluation.

Project Manager of ETCS2+IL procurement phase for the new signalling system in Belgium, Nicolasmanaged the team who wrote the specifications, issued the request for proposal, evaluated thetenders and negotiated with tenderers.This phase ended with the contract award for the ETCS2+IL technology to Siemens-Fabricom Joint Venture in July 2015.

As co-chairman of the Federal Assembly, Nicolas was responsible for the right application of the election process of the President of the Scouting Association, including the participation of the scout group delegates to elaborate the mission statement of the President for her 3-year mandate.

Member of the tender team for railway signalling, I was in charge of the technical part of requestsfor proposal coming from different countries (Korea, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France,Luxemburg,... ) about both trackside and on-board equipments.

Member of R&D platform for railway signalling systems, Nicolas focused on the centralized maintenance system for the trackside solution. Then, for a feasibility study in Trinidad, he was in charge of ETCS1 design (trackside and on-board) and also brought support for the whole signalling system.

Teaching assistant for courses and projects in electronics. Research topics were about turbocodesimplemented on FPGA (2005-07) and arm control with eye feedback (2004-05). Nicolas alsosupervised microgravity experiments during the 38th and 39th ESA parabolic flight campaigns.
