I do basic research in embedded systems and computational neuroscience. I try to understand the inner workings of the human brain and how to simulate it using AI / Reinforcement Learning, among other computer architectures. I validate those neural hypotheses on robotic 3D platforms, using my favorite software stack comprised of MATLAB / ROS / Webots. In connection with that, I also spend a lot of time thinking about how to explain these cognitive simulations to the general public, because I realized over the years that my vocation in life is to teach, as much as it is to learn.Currently, my focus is on designing tech devices for TAKVA, the company that is poised to lead the market of Muslim-oriented technology and lifestyle products. This new mission will build up on my many years of experience in academia writing computer algorithms, modeling & crafting mechatronic devices powered by ARM-based microcontrollers.

  In my role as technology lead at TAKVA, I am responsible for overseeing hardware production, firmware coding, our mobile app ecosystem, and executing our technology roadmap that incorporates a wide portfolio ranging from smartwatches & wearables, to home-connected devices geared for Muslims. Additionally, I evaluate PCB components, optimize for cost and sustainability, and constantly survey the high-tech market to ensure we stay ahead of emerging trends.My goal is to deliver robust and rich devices that exceed our customers' expectations and to transition TAKVA into a full-fledged technology company that processes hardware for applications in the domain of Muslim lifestyle industry.
