Masao Yamada Email and Phone Number
Masao Yamada, has spent the better part of two decades working in the music industry and engaged with youth empowerment organizations which has led him to Co-Founding his own organization (projectUcan) that promotes growth, self-investment and opportunity for youth during and after high school with civic engagement and a scholarship program aimed at propelling graduates into success. As an artist manager for various musical acts in the Seattle region Masao has managed to build relationships with local and national musicians but it wasn't until recent years that Masao's purpose in the music industry became clear, when he met the founder of the Melodic Caring Project; an organization that streams live music to children and teens in the hospital to incorporate healing through the art of music. Masao has since been added to the Board of Directors for the Melodic Caring Project and has made it a mission to bring awareness to the music community and their artists to embrace the positive healing effects that their music creates.Masao was a part of a city-wide Creative Advantage initiative to establish equitable access to arts education for every student in Seattle Public Schools. It is made possible through a public-private partnership with Seattle Public Schools, the City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, the Seattle Foundation, and community arts partners. Masao managed the Regional Arts Festivals which is an opportunity to celebrate the arts learning taking place in SPS.For over a decade Masao became a fixture with the Boys & Girls Club as a Director of High School programming. He developed a leadership group that took extreme pride in their civic duties. His leadership group was involved in numerous community projects and has developed partnerships with organizations covering issues such as homelessness, education, environment/conservation, health, disabilities, disaster relief, arts and culture plus many more. Masao has recently developed community partnerships with local media sources (Rainier Avenue Radio, KEXP, iHeart Media, Converge Media, Real Change, FOX 13) to support a new venture of youth radio/multimedia, known as Ground Zero Radio. GZ Radio provides career development in the areas of broadcasting, podcasting, journalism, photography, audio/video production, marketing, event coordination and graphic design. Masao is heavily engaged in his community and sat on various non profit Boards such as the Melodic Caring Project, One Love Foundation, and WheelLab.
