Technical Advisor for the implementation of Digital Addressable Cable TV System in the cable networks

Retired, on superannuation, as Additional Director General (Training) from the Staff Training Institute (Tech) All India Radio & Doordarshan New Delhi. At the time of retirement, was also having additional charge of ADG (Planning) at Head Quarters of AIR New Delhi and was responsible for Planning and coordination for the progress of AIR 11th Plan projects and formulation of 12th Plan.Initially had joined the Doordarshan Kendra at Amritsar on 29th Sept ’75, through the Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and since then till superannuation had been associated with the installation, design, maintenance, research, coordination, planning and training activities.Key Achievements:i. New Broadcasting House (NBH): Planned and executed, by leading a team of over 100 personal, including financial planning and control, administration, and coordination with external & internal agencies for AIR’s INR 60 Crore NBH Project. The Cabinet Secretariat closely monitored this project. This is the first broadcast setup of AIR, catering to home, news & external services, with completely state-of-the-art digital facilities.ii. Consultancy: Rendered expert services for developing the digitization plan for broadcast setup of Philippines Broadcasting Service on behalf of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU)iii. Human Resource Development: Conducted Training Methodology courses at Kathmandu, Beijing, Male, Cambodia and Bangkok, on behalf of Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) for the participants form the broadcasting organizations of the Asia Pacific region. iv. Engineering Administration.
