During my stay at UAG I was solely responsible for implementing Accounts Payable, Cash Management modules. I was also involved in implementing Accounts Receivables and Advanced Collections. For implementing these modules I used Oracle Implementation Guides and other white papers and notes from oracle support. I made sure that all required accounts are created. I made sure that Purchasing Options, Receiving Options, Financial Options, System Options are properly set up. Made sure all required steps are implemented and where ever needed optional steps are also implemented. We made sure that we are able to create all the transactions and data is flowing to GL successfully. Developed SQL scripts to reconcile the data from these sub ledgers to GL. Were able to successfully create accounting and close periods in DEV, SIT, and UAT environments before code being moved to production. For interfacing the customers, suppliers and relevant transactional data, oracle standard interface tables were used. Worked with data stage team to resolve interface errors. There was a requirement to dynamic creation of Revenue and Receivables accounts to be assigned to the customer based on business logic. Also we realized that standard functionality of creating relationships is not working. Wrote two wrapper PL/SQL packages around oracle standard APIs to meet these business requirements. Oracle Payables work with the presumptions that an operating unit has one balancing segment in the Accounting Key Flex field and they work with one bank for paying to suppliers. Hence they provide a single discount earned account in the financial options for that operating unit. However, we had multiple balancing in the operating unit I was working on. Removed all the bugs and was able to reconcile transaction data to the GL to the last cent for every month since then. In order to expedite the reports output created materialized views which refresh every night and we could produce reports using these MVs within seconds.• This company uses brands of products for sales. Also 90% sales are done to top 15 customers. The company has 5 ledgers and has operations in US, Canada, Europe and Mexico. Management is always interested to do sales analysis based on brands and customers. Company had few reports which were available to all the management and every night around 11.00 pm emails were sent to the management.• Company went through IRS, internal and External Audit this year. All these systems integrate with oracle applications using open interfaces or using standard APIs. It was my responsibility to make sure that all these interfaces conform to new accounting logic. Developed new interfaces as per business requirements for EDI data and extensively and effectively using oracle financial APIs by capturing and reporting API errors to the users. Provided the complete reconciliation of trial balance of each month in production and this test environment.• Many new cross validation rules were created. This resulted in about 75000 accounts in violations of these rules in production. In order to take decision on disabling these accounts, there was business necessity to see actual and budgeted gl balances of these accounts in an excel sheets from test and production environment. Gathered the data from two environments and populated the data in the temp tables. Wrote a complex PL/SQL program to place this vertical data lying in the tables to place in a horizontal line in excel• Provided extensive production support especially to procurement department. There was business need to reconcile GL inventory accrual account with the actual purchasing, receiving and invoicing transactions before closing of each period. Developed two programs, first for invoices matched to receipts and second for invoices matched to purchase orders. Developed several extracts for taxation audits.
