Inauguration by His Excellency President of India :I had joined UNO as an ICS i.e. International Civil Servant in June 1987. During my initial days in UNICEF, my primary job assignment was to organise the inauguration of UNICEF Greetings Card's Campaign by His Excellency President of India at New Delhi followed by H.E. Governors / Lt. Governor's at state capitals of other states in india.Which used to have a great presence of Senior Bureaucrats from Central government as well as Diplomats and other senior foreign dignitaries from Embassies, High Commissions and United Nation's offices stationed at New Delhi. This used to be the annual affair / feature in india as well as in other countries globally.We used to generate revenues by selling greetings cards through a wide network of dealers as well as through Lady Volunteers a sales force, who used be the wives of senior Bureaucrats and CMD's of public and private sectors. some of our Lady Volunteers were Bureaucrats also. The proceeds of Greeting cards along with massive grants from UN headquarters used to be spent in all the villages through the office of District Magistrate who used be the Project Director in all the districts all over india for the welfare of women and children of india through various programs of Immunisations and education to women about these programs through Anganwadi.
