Jindal Steel and Power Limited is a 1.8MT integrated steel plant in Odisha which will be expanded to 4MT steel plant by 2017. It is operated by Jindal group which also has plants in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. JSPL – Angul is dedicated to producing plates (5m width) which is the widest plate in the country. Another product of the plant is TMT bars.• Led team of 2,000 employees including executive and non-executive staff• Managed overall plant operations for Coal Gasification Plant (CGP), Direct Reduced Iron (DRI), Steel Melting Shop (SMS) and Lime & Dolomite Plant• Responsible for production of high quality steel at the optimal cost• Led multiple teams for procurement of raw material for steel plant and plant spare parts• Headed production planning for day-to-day plant operations• Supervised material handling for internal plant operations

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) is the flagship unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The rated capacity of the plant is 4.08MT of hot metal & 3.15MT of saleable steel. The plant is the sole supplier of rail to Indian Railways and also produces 260meters long rails. The other major products of BSP are heavy structural, merchant products (angle, channel, rounds and TMT bars), wire rods (TMT & plain), and plates (up to 3600mm width). Steel Melting Shop -1 works on Twin Hearth Furnace. It is a batch process. The furnace is heated using gas, pig iron along with scrap. After melting, slag forming agents such as limestone are added. This is a modernized version of the older Open Hearth Furnace. This comprises of two adjoining furnaces side by side to alternately use the sensible heat of gases generated. The result is to cut the time of production and minimizing heating up costs. •Responsible for overall production planning and SMS-1 operations

Bhilai Steel PlantSteel melting Shop – 2 uses Basic Oxygen steelmaking method. In this method carbon rich molten pig iron is made into steel. Blowing Oxygen through molten pig iron lowers the carbon content of the alloy and changes in to low carbon steel. The process is known as basic because fluxes of burnt lime or dolomite are added to promote the removal of impurities and protect the lining of Converters. These process reduce the time of steelmaking considerably. •Worked in project erection and installation of SMS-2 and eventually took over plant operations after holding multiple positions
