I started using Scrum in 2014. The methodology has allowed me to become much more customer-focused.I later completed a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) training online on PluralSight and an AgileSHIFT training with TorqueIT.My expertise allowed me to seamlessly transition between roles, initially serving as a Scrum Master and later as a Product Owner. This adaptability ensured precision and efficiency.I enhanced my communication, analytical, negotiation and organisation skills. I also sharpened my business acumen and leadership skills.❖ MicroservicesI learned Spring Boot and underwent training in Spring Microservices and Spring Cloud.I crafted a high-level design for a new service ecosystem. Leveraging microservices, a messaging backbone, and containerization, this initiative aimed to revolutionize user experiences, enhance support efficiency, and significantly reduce maintenance costs.❖ Inter-RIR collaborative workMy duties involved several consultations, staff exchanges, community workshops and projects with colleagues from the other 4 regional Internet Registries (RIRs). I have also attended several Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) meetings. These have given me an in-depth understanding of the Internet ecosystem and the global standards development process.❖ Certificate of Merit for Outstanding PerformanceI was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Performance in 2014 at AFRINIC by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

❖ Working within a Regional Internet Registry (not-for-profit)I started at AFRINIC as a Software Engineer.I learnt about how a not-for-profit organisation operates and the membership fee-based revenue model. I also learnt about the bottom-up self-governance structure for setting local policies in the African and Indian Ocean region for allocating Internet Resources.❖ Replace a C program with a Spring Framework applicationI briefly learnt C-programming to be able to maintain an existing in-house System. I quickly replaced the C-based System with a System based on the Spring Framework.

❖ Maintaining a lead positionI working with the leader in the pharmaceutical industry in France. I learnt about the need for constant innovation to maintain a lead position amid cut-throat competition.❖ Paving the way for a strategic shiftThe parent company of HDM Ltd, a leader in pharmacy software in France, initially hesitated to offshore its prime product development. Instead, they were working on a new product. Recognizing the potential for synergy, the parent company invited me to their headquarters in France. During this visit, we fostered a collaborative environment between the Mauritius team under my leadership and the core software development team in France.❖ Establish a new Scrum software development teamJoining HDM Ltd presented the unique challenge of establishing a software development team in Mauritius for a renowned French company.❖ Scrum, Java, Oracle Database and Fedora Linux The team would have members with strong Java skills to work on the prime software. We were poised to use an agile development methodology, namely Scrum. The technologies involved were Java, Oracle Database and Linux OS (Fedora).

❖ Global businessesI learnt how the banking sector, global aerospace, space, security, defence and transportation sectors worked. Exposure to global businesses taught me advanced problem-solving, communication, a results-oriented approach and teamwork in highly competitive, complex, volatile and sometimes ambiguous environments.❖ Lead Java ProgrammerI practised the Merise 2, Struts 2.0, Spring inversion-of-control (IoC) container and Hibernate object-relational-mapping (ORM). I ensured seamless communication and delivery.❖ Business IntelligenceI expanded my skill set to include advanced SQL and went on missions for Business Intelligence projects at Business & Decision France. This showcased my adaptability and commitment to delivering excellence across diverse technological domains.I learnt the concepts of data de-normalization, extract-transform-load (ETL), data warehouses, data marts, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) data cubes and data dimensions. and analytics dimensions, and their application in MicroStrategy and Teradata.❖ Working cross-border I participated in several missions in France, where I broadened my perspective and strengthened the bonds between the Mauritius and France teams.❖ Technical LeadI became the Technical Lead on a project in the aerospace, space, defence, security and transportation industries.I developed my leadership, management, communication and coaching skills. Within a highly competitive environment, I learned to work under extreme pressure and build confidence, endurance and a strong team spirit.

I also learned how to operate an online service using the pay-per-use pricing mechanism.❖ Java expertiseJoining MNS presented a unique challenge and opportunity as I was the sole software developer with a Java background.❖ Taking charge of a major online serviceMy Java expertise became pivotal as MNS aimed to Go Live with a crucial online service. I assumed a key role in the implementation, contributing significantly to the success of the project.❖ EDI, XML, J2EE, MVC and Struts 1.0I revamped a System based on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to a System built on Extensible Markup Language (XML). I learned about the design patterns and Java libraries commonly used in Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), the Model-View-Controller (MVC) and Struts 1.0.❖ Iterative WaterfallI experienced the Iterative Waterfall software development lifecycle in a real business environment.❖ Communication and teamworkI developed my communication, teamwork, business awareness and organisation skills.
