About Yohannes Taye

Yohannes Taye is a Mapping the Rise of Africa’s Unicorns at The Disruptors Den. Colleagues describe them as "When Yohannes and I met on LinkedIn, I had no idea that I would end up being a guest on his Podcast! However, it turned out to be quite an enjoyable yet edifying experience. In my discussion with him about my experience as an entrepreneur and the broader pharmaceutical industry in the greater Eastern Africa, he undoubtedly struck me as one who is a visionary for his generation in as far as entrepreneurship in Africa is concerned. His desire to learn about my company and my sector in great detail, his capacity to probe yet align granularity to be within the broader scope of the overarching discussion is remarkable! He has a way of settling a guest's predisposition to enable the discussion to be as flawless and in-depth, professional and calmly conversational. His kindness also becomes apparent in conversation, with a demeanor that speaks competence without brashness, reminiscent of a technique usually employed by a Director General of a global health multilateral organization, and his fellow countryman. Given his youth, I wager he has a lot more to offer his nation, his generation and anyone with whom he engages positively through his podcast, The Disruptors Den!" and "I worked with Yohannes from 2017-2019, when he was contracted to develop a number of database and dashboard to support the implementation and monitoring of the Woreda (district) Transformation Initiative through the Yale Global Health Leadership Initiative (GHLI) Ethiopia Office. He was instrumental in supporting Yale GHLI and the Ministry of Health Ethiopia in the design and development of a number of electronic data collection and performance monitoring tools. During his work with Yale GHLI, it was evident that he was a very dynamic and capable IT professional and was willing to learn and adapt the requirements of the environment."
