I am a 2nd-year Psychology and counselling student at the University of Westminster, I am hoping to find a job working within the mental health and wellbeing sector in order to gain more experience whilst conducting my studies and put my knowledge to use. My course includes a number of practical sessions in which I have been able to practice and develop my counselling skills, with a focus on a range of modalities such as CBT, psychodynamic, and humanistic methods. At the university, I am currently volunteering at a charity called Connected Lives, which focuses on promoting better parent and children relationships to reinforce healthy securely attached relationships in families. I also recently had the opportunity to complete the circle of security training with Connected Lives. I hope to access further training in counselling in the future wherever possible.
