Ms. Cheah Yoke Sim was admitted as Legal Practitioner to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2017, Barrister and Solicitor to the High Court of New Zealand and as Advocate and Solicitor to the High Court of Malaya in 1993 and 1994 respectively. Ms. Cheah graduated in 1992 with LL.B Bachelor of Laws Degree, from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She was a practicing lawyer in Malaysia for 5 years. After leaving the legal practice in 1998, she worked in Mah Sing Group Berhad as Senior Legal Manager and Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer from 1998 to 2002. She was also appointed as the Company Secretary then. In February 2002, she joined Genting Hong Kong Limited (formerly known as Star Cruises Limited), a public company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, as the Vice President of Legal & Corporate Affairs. She was subsequently promoted to the position of General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Legal & Corporate Affairs. She was based in Hong Kong and headed the Legal & Corporate Affairs Department in charge of advising all operating subsidiaries and/or related companies within the Genting Hong Kong Group with businesses spread across Asia Pacific and Europe on legal, tax, corporate and insurance matters. She was also appointed as director and legal representative of its subsidiary companies. She also acted as the Chairman of the Whistleblower Committee for the Genting Hong Kong Group.Ms. Cheah rejoined Mah Sing Group Berhad after she returned to Malaysia since April 2011.
