Army Career and Alumni Program (ACAP) Counselor for active Service Members, Wounded Warriors and family members transitioning from the military through normal attrition. On daily basis, streamline work processes through well managed scheduling and reviewing of office contract documents to ensure compliance with current policies and guidelines. Assist an average of 900 clients per month in scheduling benefits briefings and providing insight on disability and retirement issues in accordance with the Veterans Opportunity to Work Act (VOW) 2011. Provide insight on resume development, job application, networking and interview preparation. Currently manage the progress of 427 assigned clients and encourage clients to increase their utilization of Transition Center services. Conduct initial counseling for 45 newly assigned clients monthly and enter case notes into ACAP XXI computerized programs to develop historical records for review, analysis and case file status. Instruct scheduled transition briefings and Resume/Employment workshops, assisting discharging clients and their dependents with out-processing and employment searches. Facilitate monthly briefings on the Veterans Opportunity to Work Act (VOW) 2011 to nearly 100 clients. Present monthly briefings on benefits as a result of military service, reemployment rights, government benefits and employment opportunities. Conduct monthly briefings on transition overview and federal resume to an average of 75 clients with the goal of them assessing their education, training, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Develop and edit briefing slides to foster assistance, guidance and support from Senior Managers and Executives. Assist with resume preparations. Research and review regulations. Assist clients in scheduling benefits briefings and provide insight on disability and retirement issues. Coordinate for educational benefits and training opportunities. Review labor markets and employment trends.

Conducted parole investigations and administrative works; provided supervision to offenders; performed liaison activities with criminal justice agencies, social service agencies, and other public and private entities; and obtained information and prepared documentation related to offenders and parole supervision activities. Visited offender residences, jails, correctional facilities, courthouses, social services, and other agencies to obtain offender information; interviewed, counseled, and trained offenders concerning reintegration skills to include life and cognitive skills and ABE/GED training; and evaluated offender adjustment and recommended revisions to parole supervision plans. Coordinated with facilities, agencies, and the community to prepare and facilitate implementation of an informed plan of supervision. Compiled information, prepared social and developmental histories, documented offenders, supervised activities and maintained required records; prepared evaluations, recommendations, and other related reports to include data entry, retrieval, and data searches; and provided technical assistance. Conducted activities to monitor offender compliance with the conditions of supervision to include alcohol and drug testing. Responded to inquiries from offenders and the public in person, telephonically, and in writing. Performed criminal information searches and retrieval using Texas Department of Public Safety criminal history system access. Performed a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
